Hi, I’m Ebany

Your commonwealth registered marriage celebrant, organiser of organised chaos, and someone who genuinely loves a good celebration.

I’d been thinking about becoming a celebrant for a while, but it was while I was on maternity leave with my second that I finally decided to make it happen. It sounded like something I’d find incredibly fun and rewarding and as it turns out, I was right.

I love the stories, the little details, the happy tears, the nervous laughs and everything that makes a ceremony feel completely yours.

I’ve spent the last 18 years working in the optical industry, so I’m no stranger to people, problem solving and making sure all the little details are taken care of.

I’m also a wife and mum to two tiny humans, so life is usually a bit chaotic but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

A little bit personal

My wife and I got engaged before same sex marriage was legal in Australia, so planning a wedding came with a whole extra layer of uncertainty.

You never quite knew whether a vendor, venue or service provider would genuinely welcome you, or whether you’d have to explain your relationship before you could simply start planning your day.

That experience has stayed with me. I want to make sure that feeling of uncertainty is never something my couples have to carry into their wedding planning.

I’m proudly LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and creating a space where every couple feels welcomed, respected and celebrated for exactly who they are is incredibly important to me.

A little more about me

I’m based in Dubbo on Wiradjuri Country and am happy to travel throughout the Central West and beyond.

I love travel, live music, good food and even better company. I’m also a sucker for the little details that make a celebration feel personal.
