Not every celebration fits neatly into a package and that’s completely okay.

THE LEGAL STUFF

There is a little bit of paperwork involved, but don’t worry I’ll guide you through it all.
The main document is your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM), which needs to be completed and lodged with your celebrant at least one month before your wedding.
When we complete your paperwork, I’ll need to sight original documents that establish your identity, date and place of birth. This can generally be your original birth certificate or an Australian passport, along with current photo identification such as a driver licence or passport.
If you’ve changed your name, I’ll also need to sight the relevant change of name documentation.
I’ll talk you through exactly what you need and make sure everything is sorted well before your wedding day.
As soon as you have your date, I’d recommend getting in touch.
Popular dates can book well in advance, but if you’re planning something sooner, please still reach out. I’m always happy to see what we can do.
Yes. You’ll need two witnesses who are both 18 or older to sign your marriage documents.
They can be family, friends or whoever you’d like to have standing beside you on the day.
There are a few legal elements that must be included in every Australian marriage ceremony, but beyond those, your ceremony can be as personal as you like.
You’ll need to say the required legal vows, I’ll say the Monitum, and your marriage documents will be signed by you, your witnesses and me.
Everything else is completely up to you.

YOUR CEREMONY

There’s no set length for a wedding ceremony.
Some couples want something short and sweet, while others want plenty of time for stories, readings, music and personal vows.
We’ll create something that feels like the right length for you.
That’s completely fine.
You don’t need to arrive with every detail figured out. Part of my job is helping you work out what feels like you.
We’ll chat about your relationship, your personalities and what you want your ceremony to feel like, and I’ll help bring it all together.
Not at all.
If writing your own vows is something you’re excited about, I’ll help you make them personal and meaningful.
If the thought of writing your own vows makes you want to run in the opposite direction, that’s okay too. We can keep things simple or work together to find something that feels comfortable.
Absolutely.
Your ceremony can include readings, poems, music, cultural traditions, rituals, family involvement or anything else that has meaning to you.
If you have an idea you’re not sure about, ask me. We can work it out together.
Your wedding doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. But it absolutely can if that’s what feels right for you.
Whether you want something romantic, traditional, funny, relaxed, modern or completely unconventional, I’m here for it all creating a ceremony that feels like the two of you.

An elopement can be incredibly intimate and still feel every bit as special as a larger wedding.

I’ll guide you through the legal paperwork, send through the relevant forms and documents, and work with you to create your ceremony.
